Yes, World Walking can be used for free. You can join a group, complete solo walks, and sync your steps without paying anything.
If you wish to create a group, walk multiple routes concurrently or sync in the background (and more!), you can choose to pay to subscribe to World Walking Plus.
Upgrading to Plus will allow you to create a group and allow other free users to join. It will also give you access to some additional features such as World Stats and automatic step syncing in the background.
If you’ve already created your account, you can simply go to Settings > Subscriptions and we’ll walk you through the payment process.
If you don't have an account, simply register and we'll ask you to choose Basic or Plus during the setup process.
On our website, we take payment via Paddle using PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay and credit/debit cards.
On our mobile app, we take payment through Apple Pay or Google Pay subscriptions.
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time before the subscription renewal date. The cancellation method will vary depending on how you subscribed with more information provided in our app and on the website.
By creating your own private walking group, you can invite up to 9 others to join you and they all receive the benefits of the group!
Even World Walking basic users who join your group will benefit from these!
Our goal is to make World Walking accessible to everyone, which is why we have the free account for individual users to benefit from.
However if you’d like to create your own personal group for others to join, and benefit from other features such as World Stats, you can always upgrade to Plus at any time.
