Our goal is to make World Walking accessible to everyone, which is why we have the free account for individual users to benefit from.
However if you’d like to create your own group for others to join, and benefit from other features such as World Stats, you can always upgrade to Plus at any time.

No, not automatically. You can choose to migrate your old stats by re-registering on worldwalking.com using the same email address as your old World Walking account and selecting to migrate during the signup process.
Your completed solo walks, total distance banked and spent and achievements history can be migrated to the new worldwalking.com
Unfortunately active/ongoing walks and groups cannot be migrated to the new platform. However, you are welcome to re-create your group and invite your friends or restart any active walks on the new platform.
No, the old worldwalking.org is closed for new registrations and will shut down on 1st May 2026. You are welcome to sign up to the new worldwalking.com if you wish to continue counting your steps and virtually exploring the world.
Re-registering to use worldwalking.com, and migrating your data, is completely optional.
If you choose not to register or migrate, your old worldwalking.org data will be automatically deleted after 6 months.
Yes, worldwalking.org was funded and maintained by World Walking SCIO, a Scottish based charity.
The new worldwalking.com website and apps are developed and provided by Team Challenge Apps Ltd, a Scottish company and the same team behind the bigteamchallenge.com step challenge platform.
